Changing your workflow to handle the new compliance requirements on various sites

The new Mastercard guidelines for adult came into effect on October 15, 2021, and performers and producers are already noticing changes on platforms. Use these 4 tips to help you navigate the new compliance landscape on any site.

Organize your ID and release documents

Dig out all of your ID photos and model releases and digitize them all. Scan or take photos of everything, and create a specific folder on your computer to store everything. Make sub-folders for each performer and keep all of their documentation together. If you are missing documents for someone, try reaching out to them. Although they are not legally obligated to provide you with missing documentation after the fact, many models will be willing to, especially if they are still in the industry.

Organize your footage and files

If you shoot a lot of collab content, it might be a good idea to start organizing your files by co-performer to make it easier to match up content with documentation. As more sites create systems that allow you to select performers you have already entered information for, this will be less necessary, but if the site you use requires you to upload documents every time, this can expedite the matching-up task.

Get ahead on content

With pre-release reviews already implemented or coming to sites soon, it can take anywhere from hours to days to get your content approved and released for sale. With that in mind, you need to plan ahead. If you want to keep up with a particular upload schedule, you should be submitting your content at least a week ahead of time and scheduling it for release on the desired date to get it into the review queue in time.

Track your submissions

Once you submit your content for review, make it a habit to check in on your submissions before they’re scheduled to go live. With the constantly changing restrictions on categories, tags, language, and content allowed, it’s important to keep on top of your content.
