Aerie: I noticed there are a lot of non-adult themes before verification takes place, is this site truly an adult site or are you looking to appeal to the SFW/influencer market as well?

Dan: Clip Page is an adult site first and foremost. SFW/influencer creators are very welcome to join the community as our features serve virtually any custom content vertical.

Clip Page has SFW themes for a couple of reasons. Creators who only want to provide SFW content (even if they are in the adult space) can do so, and additionally share their Clip Page link on sites that might not be adult friendly.

Also, we have Creators who produce both types of content, and so having SFW themes helps set expectations with fans upfront on the nature of what they can expect in their order. An example here would be AMA – there’s actually both SFW and NSFW types on Clip Page, with many adult creators adding the SFW AMA type to their available themes.

Aerie: What is the payout percentage and how are you able to accomplish this percentage? (Are fans charged processing fees, etc.)

Dan: Creator payouts are 100% and this is a core tenet of Clip Page that will never change.

If a fan orders a custom for $200, the creator will receive the full $200. There are no minimum payout amounts, and Clip Page covers the bank sending fees for same-day ACH and 1-3 day SWIFT transfers for our international creators (i.e. without a US bank account).

We also recently introduced payouts via Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC – again, we cover all sending exchange fees. We believe creators should not have to ‘pay’ to get paid.

Fans are charged a 10% platform service fee which (as of July 2024) also includes all credit card transaction fees. We expect to decouple the credit card fees later in 2024 from the platform fee – but not until we also provide a cryptocurrency payment option to fans.

Additionally, if a fan tips the creator as part of their order, we do not apply the platform service fee to that portion of the order.

Aerie: Do you allow all genders?

Dan: Absolutely! We’ve been extremely fortunate that our platform resonates with all genders and we’re very open to anyone who wants to join our community. We believe the rich variety of gender identities brings a unique and valuable perspective to Clip Page. Everyone is welcome.

Aerie: Are chargebacks covered?

Dan: Yes – 100%. When a fan places a custom order, we take the full payment and hold funds until the creator completes and delivers the order. If a fan performs a chargeback at any time – including after receipt of the custom order – it does not impact creator earnings.

Aerie: Do you offer DMCA takedowns?

Dan: We do not offer DMCA takedowns on behalf of our creators today, although it is on the 2024/Q4 roadmap.

Aerie: Is there any referral program for models or clients?

Dan: Not at this time, but it is on the 2024/Q4 roadmap. Honestly, we’ve not had many requests for this feature so it hasn’t been a high priority. However, it’ll ship later this year.

Aerie: Do you support studio accounts?

Dan: We’re currently engaged with several studios and are working closely with them to understand their requirements ahead of building out full support on the platform. We’re expecting to launch our first set of studio features in September 2024.

Aerie: Is ID verification required for all performers featured in the content? (i.e. you produce b/g clips, are both IDs needed?)

Dan: Yes, we’re required by law to ensure that all individuals featured in content that is sold and distributed on Clip Page are verified. We have a specific form that can be completed by the individual(s) who feature in the main Clip Page creator content if they do not also have Clip Page accounts.

Aerie: Do you have any “tips for success” that are platform specific to ClipPage?

Dan: Take time to explore all of our features – we’re doing our best to make Clip Page intuitive to use, but we also appreciate that we have many options you can set up. We provide free one-on-one onboarding sessions with our team to help you get going and answer any questions you might have, and our support team is available 7 days a week via email, phone and X DMs.

Enable our recently-launched “Ask About My Customs” messaging feature – it allows fans to ask you clarifying questions about the content you provide before placing an order. It’s also a great opportunity to ensure fans understand the full range of content you provide. You could even share a promo code in your response to encourage them to place an order!

Price your content offerings to reflect that you are providing a unique, personalized and exclusive experience to fans. We see many opportunities for creators to charge more than they currently do! Additionally, producing custom content can require more time and effort than non-custom content, so ensure you’ve factored in this additional work when setting your prices.

Add Promo Codes to your Clip Page and share out to your fans on social media, through DMs, and anywhere else where you might have a presence. It’s a great way to reward repeat customers and encourage first time customers to place orders with you.

Set up your personal No List to help set expectations with fans so they know what they should not ask for in their custom narrative. It’s important to set boundaries on the types of content you are not comfortable or equipped to produce.

If you’re new to offering your fans customs, start by setting a low maximum active number of orders so you can avoid getting overwhelmed with too many orders coming in at once. Set delivery options that are in the 2+ weeks range so you don’t feel rushed to quickly turnaround content. Consider adding a page password and sharing with a small number of your fans to start with to help control inbound requests. Keep an eye on your order calendar schedule – it’s useful to help prioritize which orders to start first based on when they are due to be delivered, and view everything at a glance.

Aerie: Do you plan to ever offer domain connections? (i.e. a performer could have their own domain lead to their page not via forwarding)

Dan: Yes! This is another 2024/Q4 roadmap feature for us. Creators will be able to map their own domain (e.g. creator.com) to a subdomain on Clip Page (e.g. creator.clip.page) via a CNAME record. The result will allow fans to visit creator.com to place custom orders whilst the creator’s own brand is emphasized through their domain at all times.

We also plan on releasing an embeddable JavaScript widget that creators can add to their existing site. This will allow their fans to place orders via Clip Page but without leaving the creator site. Full branding and customization options will be made available too.

Aerie: Any plans in the future for clip hosting for clip sales?

Dan: We’ve certainly had this request a few times already! For the immediate future, our single focus is to build the best customs platform that addresses pain points creators encounter across all aspects of the custom order process. We launched in early 2024 and have a lot of work ahead of us before we feel Clip Page should also support non-custom clip sales, but we will get there 🙂
