XHamster Announces New Premium VOD Platform by Samantha38g

Performers Can Now Make Money Through XHamster VOD

Does anyone else think Xhamster getting into the video on demand for $$$$ a major game changer?

Ten years ago, I thought eventually these tube sites will either buy out or put many out of business. Then they won’t have anyone to steal from anymore. These sites require tons of new content, especially hardcore, to keep the traffic coming in.

Eventually they started doing deals with major porn companies, rather than smaller studios. Now they’re chasing cam girls and independent content creators to sign up and get a percentage of the ad space money.

It is a beast that demands to be fed lots of new fresh hardcore content to keep the amount of traffic they need up to convert into ad sales. Unlike other industries with plenty of companies to buy ads or traffic, porn is limited. The Robber barons on the internet have hit a plateau.

How Porn, The Internet and The Adult Industry Has Changed

The internet and especially porn industry is constantly evolving. Tube sites have had their hey day, but new ones are not popping up anymore. Not in a major way.

There are major changes going on in this industry:

Cam Site Battle

There is what I call the old guard: Imlive, Flirt4free, Cams.com and iFriends. Then there is what I called the new guard, who is now more like the middle aged sites: Myfreecams and Streamate. Both which caused major changes in the camming world with no charge backs and better percentages to the performers on them. MFC especially, with the ‘free chat, anything goes’ mantra.

Now we have the newer guard: Chaturbate, CAM4 and CamSoda. These guys are coming up and kicking ass. Chaturbate is revolutionizing with the open apps and bots that anyone can build and use for their shows. CAM4 is bringing in performers to work for them and hosts training programs. CamSoda is sponsoring major porn stars to do scheduled shows on it.

The Adult VOD Market

You have the old guard of AEBN, Hotmovies and AdultEmpire which the major porn companies all use but never really have recruited or captured the cam girls & independent content creators. Then you have the fetish clip site Clips4sale.com which has steadily risen as an income maker for cam girls & independent content creators.

Pay Site Platforms

Then you have your pay site model companies: ModelCentro and several others.

Many Of These Networks Are Competing For More Market Share

All of them are battling it out and delving into the others markets. This is creating “hybrids”, as one might call it. All of them having to step up their game. All are trying to be all three of these business models to increase traffic, profits and  chase after the performers to make money on them. Great time to be a performer. Great time to see how this all plays out too.

XHamster And Other Companies Jumping Into The VOD Game

Then XHamster went and got into the pay for VOD game. Will it convert for those who do it? XHamster is working with tons of traffic, which gives them a natural advantage. How will this impact all the other tube sites and how they do business?

There are so many options now for cam performers and content creators, that trying to focus on more than one can be overwhelming. Which ones will survive? Which ones will thrive?

Streamate rolled out the VOD system too, recently. As did Flirt4Free.

Now Companies Need The Performers (Not The Opposite!)

I’ve been creating content for almost 20 years and camming for over 12. I remember how hard it was to get your foot in the door and do more than just paid shoots. Especially if you were not young, big boobs, skinny, blonde and a female in the porn industry. The door was shut to so many of us. Yes, I broke many of glass ceilings, but dreamed of this day for over a decade. Where we as performers and content creators of all shapes, genders, races and over 18 years old would have so many different ways to generate an income.

Instead of us battling out for a few paid shoots, companies are battling it out to recruit us. How the times have changed, and I predicted this almost 10 years ago.

Lots of companies, especially cam companies, count on tube sites for traffic. With Xhamster adding a pay VOD to their site, will it push all the traffic there? Will they or others eventually dip a toe into the cam game?

So many exciting changes and evolutions, it is hard to keep up with it all!
