Survey of 655 camgirls in July 2020 breaks down earnings, hours, and more

“How much money do webcam models make?” is a question generally understood to best be answered with “it depends.”

Ready Set Cam has taken a different approach to the question, however. In July 2020 they surveyed 655 active (ie currently working) cam models about their income, experience, and work habits. Survey respondents were found through Reddit, including r/CamGirlProblems and r/SexWorkers. Although the survey includes a breakdown for female, male, trans, and couple performers, the report refers to “camgirls” throughout.

What they found:

• Average earnings: $1,043 per week
• Lowest/highest earnings: less than $100/wk / $6,000+/wk
• Average hours: 18 camming hours per week
• Average hourly earnings: $58.77/hr
• Lowest/highest hourly earnings: $4.70/hr / $315/hr
• Sites with highest hourly earnings: Streamate, Chaturbate, Xmodels, Stripchat
• Site with lowest hourly earnings: LiveJasmin
