OnlyFans – Shady History and Questionable Ventures

With the recent changes to OnlyFans ToS and how they implemented this, it seems to me that it’s only right to shed some light on the topic of OnlyFans as a whole.

Recent OnlyFans Stunt

For those unfamiliar with the latest OnlyFans stunt, their past ToS had the following line:

“You may not:

- Create, upload, post, display, publish or distribute any User Content that (i) is sexually explicit (i.e. sexual acts including penetration/intercourse and/or oral sex, sexual acts to or with minors, bestiality or sexual behavior that has a violent context, i.e. flagellation or torture), obscene, fraudulent, defamatory, libelous, hateful, discriminatory, threatening or harassing, or (ii) violates another’s copyright, trademark, right of privacy, right of publicity, or other property or personal right (for example, using the name, likeness, image or other identity of another without proper consent);”

Their past ToS can be viewed on this handy website here. This was as of January 2017

This was all brought to light by OnlyFans stating they have changed payment processors. The particular payment processor chosen was not adult friendly.

Therefore, Nathan H, the owner of Webcam Startup, e-mailed OnlyFans to clarify, once and for all, if adult content was allowed on the platform.

The representative from OnlyFans confirmed that OnlyFans does not allow adult content, quoting the ToS from the above terms.

Despite being a successful affiliate partner to OnlyFans, Nathan reported this information honestly on both Twitter and removed OnlyFans from Webcam Startup.

After all, this website is directly for adult performers and, despite profiting from referring adult performers to OnlyFans, Nathan wanted to do the right thing; That is, not promoting a website in which adult content was not allowed.

In response, OnlyFans updated their ToS to remove the above portion about adult content not being allowed. They did so without telling anyone and acted as though their ToS has never changed. They even stated that e-mails have been “spoofed”:

OnlyFans Implies The Emails Were Spoofed

To me, this indirectly implies that Nathan’s posted e-mail was “spoofed” and that Nathan had made the entire thing up.

Naturally, many performers became very upset, coming to the conclusion that Nathan of Webcam Startup did indeed make everything up. After all, it is natural to believe a tweet from an official company as oppose to someone running a resource website.

Had OnlyFans owned up to the fact that they updated their ToS and not made the indirect accusation of spoofing e-mails, this would have really eliminated all of the upset feelings and drama that ensured as a result. I not only blame OnlyFans entirely for causing this but I also personally found OnlyFans actions to be entirely unprofessional.

It’s unfortunate, but this is not the first time OnlyFans has been in a negative limelight.

OnlyFans Stealing Follow+ From Lindsey Leigh

Lindsey Leigh, a popular FemDomme, created a platform called Follow+. Follow+ that started in January 2016. Follow+ was the first website of its kind and was essentially very similar to OnlyFans today. It is a social media type platform that allows a performer to monetize via a subscription rate to his or her page.

Unfortunately, Follow+ didn’t last long.

Lindsey had stated that the owner of OnlyFans stole her Follow+ idea by stealing the framework and violated the non-compete clause of their contract. He had access to Follow+ information, due to his shareholder status. Not only that, but Lindsey stated that he threatened to expose the models using the platform and stole money from Lindsey.

Lindsey stated that she was in the process of taking this individual to court, which was complex due to him being in the UK, but no updates were made past this tweet thread that I found.

Of course, there are people who believe that this information directly from Lindsey is false. However, a representative from IWantClips has confirmed OnlyFans was a stolen idea from Lindey’s Follow+.

OnlyFans’s Other Websites

OnlyFans also owns other websites. It has been reported that OnlyFans also owns the following websites:

  • OnlyFans
  • Delivery Code
  • Customs4U
  • Clip Drone

Many of these websites have not only essentially failed or are unsuccessful, but also have poor reputations across the adult industry.

As such, there have been numerous reports of performers not having a pleasant experience, especially with DeliveryCode, in particular:

I myself can attest, too, that my experience with these websites has been met with un-professionalism I have not experienced anywhere.

OnlyFans Alternatives

There are plenty of alternatives to OnlyFans, including:

IWantFanClub by iWantEmpire
ManyVids Crush by ManyVids
NexoCams by Clips4Sale

I myself use IWantFanClub and have been successful with it.

Conclusion – Stay Away From OnlyFans

I highly urge all performers to be extremely cautious when it comes to OnlyFans as well as all websites owned by this individual / his companies. At the end of the day, I feel it’s best to not be associated with a company that exercises such unprofessional practices as well as those with strong, confirmed accusations against them.

This all said, I always believe in the empowerment and choice of all performers. Making the correct choice comes from accurate information. It is my hope that this article gives you the power to make the best choice for you and your business.

I wish you all the best!
