How To Get Into Camming

Webcam EquipmentGetting Into The Camming Industry

Are you interested in getting into the camming industry? Getting started is incredibly easy and you’ve got the freedom to perform however you want (as long as it’s legal and within the camming networks guidelines). Camming can be a very profitable career and you can work part time, full time or whatever hours you want. Here’s how to get started in the camming industry.

Requirements To Get Into Camming

18 Years Old Or Older – This is the only real requirement to get started in the camming industry. If you’re under the age of eighteen, you’ve got some growing to do first.

Webcam – Some networks will let you use the stock computer webcam while others require HD. You’ll want an HD camera anyway as the better quality will keep more people in your chatroom and make you more money. The cam will easily pay for itself.

Computer – The specs on the computer will vary from network to network. Check to make sure your hardware is adequate before joining. If you’re a Mac user, you might have to get a Windows emulator because most networks aren’t Mac friendly, but there are some out there.

Highspeed Internet – Dial-up won’t work and most networks won’t even allow it. You need highspeed. The higher the speed the better. You don’t want a laggy show.

Place to Cam – Whether it’s a dedicated room, a bedroom or some other place, you’ll need somewhere to cam. Preferably a clean environment that isn’t too cluttered. You want people focusing on you, not the room.

Steps To Start Camming

Pick Out Your Alias – Obviously you’re not going to be using your real name. Privacy is a real concern for models. When picking a stage name, make it sexy and make it a real name, not some username. Here’s a guide for choosing a camming alias.

Decide What Niches / Shows You’ll Do – This is a very important step. You’ll need to think hard about what you’re comfortable with and how kinky you’re willing to get. You’re going to get a lot of strange requests and you need to hold firm on what you’re comfortable with.

Choose A Camming Network – Now it’s time to pick a camming network. What network is “best” depends on a lot of things and will vary from model to model. The best advice is to compare each network and find the one with the features that you like best. Here’s a list of camming networks to choose from.

Learn the Industry – Perhaps one of the best ways to do this is to watch some of the top performing models yourself. See what kind of shows they do, how they get their tips and how they interact with the chatroom. Don’t expect to be the master on day 1, it takes a while to learn what works best. Also, what works best for one model might not work at all for another model. Experiment and play with new ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Build Your Following – As a new model, you’ll have no following and be 100% dependent on the traffic the network brings to your chat room. This could easily be enough to make some good money, but the real bucks are made through regular customers and building a following. There’s many methods of doing this.
