Content Delivery: To Cloud or Not To Cloud? By Katy Churchill

At first glance, content delivery seems to be the least of an adult content creator’s worries: create an account on a clip site, interested customers can buy videos and download them directly from the purchase page. Simple, right? For individual videos, audio files, or photo sets, that solution works. Buy one item, receive one item, everyone is happy. Once you start creating bundles, though, things get slightly more difficult. For selling content sets, you have 3 main options: existing adult content sites, accepting payment for access to content in the cloud, and Project Maenad.

Clip Sites

NiteFlirt: The “goody bag” content sales system allows for multiple files to be uploaded together into one bundle. Files included can be videos, photographs, audio files, or written documents. A customer purchases the goody bag off the model’s profile and has immediate access to download all of the files in the bundle. Goody bags can be sold repeatedly with no additional effort or re-listing required. Customers must be a Niteflirt member and pay with their NF account.

ManyVids: The “MV link” system can be used to send multiple videos to a customer. MV links are not generated automatically, and can only be used once. A customer can pay on Manyvids or via another method, then the model must manually generate the MV link and send it to the customer. Only videos can be sent in this way. Customers must be a Manyvids member, but do not have to pay with their MV account.

Cloud Content Sharing

Without a good content bundling and distribution option available, many models turn to non-adult cloud sharing services, selling access to particular files or folders within their account. For all of these options, payment must be made on another site. Additionally, some of these services ban the storage and/or sharing of pornographic content.
